Learn More About Us
Who are we? This is a question that is a little more complex and cannot be defined by a short mission statement. The J Wayne Foundation is comprised of individuals who offer their expertise from various backgrounds but most importantly decades of experience in dealing with substance use and mental health disorders. Our primary purpose is helping those in recovery who desire to re integrate back into their lives, family systems and becoming productive members of their community.
The individuals initial treatment stay should be looked at as a period of developing stabilization and laying the foundation for building a long-lasting recovery.
People who have little or no access to aftercare services, both therapeutic and non-therapeutic are facing a much more difficult time rebuilding. Our goal is to look at everyone from an individual perspective to meet their specific needs.
The J Wayne Foundation is also building a network of recovering individuals providing opportunities to cultivate the many brilliant minds that suffer at the hands of addiction. This includes mentoring the entrepreneurial spirit that many of these individuals will possess. Aligning with potential employer’s trade unions, vocational training and academic institutions to provide opportunities to these otherwise disenfranchised recipients. A mainstay in recovery is instilling a culture of community service and helping those that come after us.
This include creating business opportunities, jobs, housing and access to healthcare to create a sober economy. Providing semi-permanent housing in a sober and safe supportive environment. In the simplest of terms, the easiest way to understand who we are would be to see a picture of a recipient while still active in their use disorder and measuring their portraits on a yearly basis to ultimately create the dream that they chose to put on a blank canvas.
